Last week people from Minato Dojo in UK visited us.

They brought a beautiful TENUGUI ・・・It was a gift from Mr. Evans, President of Minato Dojo ( 湊道場）who visited us in November, last year. He have visited Kyoto on many occasions.

By bus: Take kyoto city bus 206 and get off at Kumano-Jinjya -mae Stop ( about 30 min.JPY220)
By Keihan subway : Walk to the Shichijo street and turn right then walk along the street for about 10 min. and you will find the KEIHAN subway's Shichijo Station. Get on the northbound and get off at Jingu-Marutamachi station. Walk along Marutamachi street to the east for about 10 min.

From Shijo Kawaramachi:

By bus: Take Kyoto city bus 201 or 203 and get off at Kumano-Jinja-mae Stop ( about 15 min. JPY220) then walk for about 2 min.

If you have ever experienced sweat drenched Gi making you feel really uncomfortable or worse, even restricting your moves, you should seriously consider our Seersucker Aikido Gi Jacket( Pants are also available. ) Thanks to the uniquely-patterned stitching applied to the lightweight fabric, it absorbs the sweat effectively and dries much quicker than the Gi made of the conventional fabric. Now you stay pretty dry and comfortable even during summer intensive training. 100 % bleached cotton. Size available from 2 to 6. These are not sharpened. Therefore they can not be used for Tameshigiri.
These are Iaito swords not Shinken. The blade materials are Zinc, Al, Cu etc.

Chinowa Kuguri

 I went walking near our shop today. I saw many people creeping through a big ring at the gate  of Heian Shrine.  We call this event Chinowa kuguri. It is held in the end of June for purification.

Chinowa kuguri" is one of popular Shintoism ceremonies. People creep through a big ring made of kaya (pampas like weed).

　　　　To purify our  body and soul for the past 6 months & also for the next .......
You shoul walk through and around the ring to the left and then around and through again to trace a figure-eight with your path. 左ー　右ー　左　♪♪♪   Wishing people's health and good luck ...

When I dropped in our store to check e-mails  there were a lot of customers.. They were from Italy, Lyon(France) and United States. Thanks a lot! I will work tomorrow.

I enjoy looking at Japanese sweets .
